  • One hour of study required for each hour in class

What academic skills do I need to be successful in the program?

This list does not replace the admission requirements you must have for admission to the program. Please see website for details.

Math & Science No specific math courses are required for admission, but Grade 12 Mathematics for College Technology (C) OR Grade 12 Foundations for College Mathematics (C) would be excellent preparation for this program. Grade 11 or Grade 12 Physics (C) or (U) would be excellent preparation for this program.

Literacy Heavy reading load, need ability to read and comprehend textbooks.

Technology Basic computer skills required (word processing, email, Internet).

What personal qualities should someone interested in this career have?

For future career in the technology or building fields, you will need to:

  • Enjoy working with your hands
  • Enjoy working with computers and other tools
  • Be able to explain and provide clear directions
  • Be able to work in a team
  • Have good organizational/time management skills
  • Take ownership for learning
  • Be a self-starter
